Wrenchly privacy policy
This policy explains what information the Wrenchly app ("Wrenchly", "the app") handles, why, and the choices you have. In short: Wrenchly has no account and no servers of its own. Your vehicle records stay on your device. The only data that leaves your device goes to the advertising, purchase and analytics services described below.
1. Who is responsible
Wrenchly is published by Puche Labs, the trade name of Manuel David Puche Donado, an individual developer based in Colombia (the data controller). Contact: support@puchelabs.com.
2. Information that stays on your device
Everything you enter in Wrenchly is stored only in the app's storage on your device and is never sent to us:
- vehicles (make, model, year, license plate, odometer readings);
- services, visits, costs, shops and notes; fuel and charging logs; expenses; documents and renewal dates;
- photos of receipts you choose to attach (taken with the camera or picked from your gallery);
- your settings (units, currency, language) and the data shown in the home-screen widgets.
Backups. A manual backup is a file that you save or share wherever you choose. The automatic backup (Pro) writes copies to iCloud Drive on iOS or to a folder you pick on Android; those copies are handled by Apple or by the storage provider you selected, under their own terms.
Exports. PDF and CSV exports are created on your device and only go where you share them.
3. Permissions
- Notifications: to remind you of services and renewals. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
- Camera and photos: only when you attach a receipt. Photos stay on your device.
- Tracking (iOS): Apple asks whether apps may use your advertising identifier for personalized ads. Wrenchly works the same if you say no.
Wrenchly does not access your location, contacts, microphone or files beyond those you pick.
4. Third-party services
Google AdMob (ads in the free version). To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and ad interactions. Personalized ads are only shown where you have agreed (consent message in the EEA, UK and Switzerland; App Tracking Transparency on iOS); you can opt out under US state privacy laws. Pro users see no ads. More: How Google uses information from apps and Google privacy policy.
RevenueCat (purchases). If you open the Pro screen or buy Pro, RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription status from Google Play or the App Store, and basic device and app information, to unlock Pro and restore purchases. It never receives your card details; payments are processed by Google or Apple. More: RevenueCat privacy policy.
Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. To understand which features are used and to fix crashes, the app sends usage events (for example "vehicle added" or "PDF exported", never the content you type, your plate or your notes), an app instance ID, device and app information, and crash reports. Where the law requires consent (for example in the EEA and the UK), analytics is only used if you agree. More: Privacy and security in Firebase.
App stores. Google Play and the App Store process downloads, payments, refunds and in-app review prompts under their own privacy policies.
5. Why we use this information (legal bases)
- to provide the app and Pro purchases you ask for (performance of a contract);
- to show ads that fund the free version, and personalized ads only with your consent;
- to measure usage and fix crashes (our legitimate interest in a working app, or your consent where required).
We do not sell your personal information for money. Personalized advertising may count as "sharing" under some US state laws; you can opt out as described below.
6. Your choices
- Privacy options: in Wrenchly, go to Settings → Privacy → Privacy options (where available) to review or withdraw your consent.
- Advertising ID: reset or delete it in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
- Delete your data: delete records in the app, or uninstall it to remove everything stored on the device. Delete your backup files wherever you saved them.
- Go Pro to remove ads entirely.
7. Retention
Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat and the app stores as long as needed to provide your purchases and meet legal obligations. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days. Advertising data is retained according to Google's policies.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. In Colombia these are your habeas data rights under Law 1581 of 2012 (to know, update, rectify and request deletion, and to file a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio). In the EEA and the UK you may complain to your local data protection authority. Residents of US states such as California may request to know, delete or opt out of sharing.
Because we do not keep your records on our own servers, most data is under your control on your device. For anything held by the services above, write to support@puchelabs.com and we will help or forward your request. We reply within 30 days.
9. International transfers
The services above may process data in the United States and other countries. They use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Children
Wrenchly is meant for drivers and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Important changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
